True, in partnership with the Capital Accelerate & Scale Tech Superstars (CASTS) programme and the UK Department for International Trade (DIT) is organising a “Retail & Consumer Technology Trade Mission” to the United States to facilitate private commercial meetings between founders of cutting edge retail and consumer technology innovation businesses and senior leaders of major US retail and consumer goods companies. The Trade Mission will take place from 17-21 September 2018 in Chicago and New York City (final city schedule to be confirmed).

This Trade Mission is open to any UK based innovation business (subject to certain application noted eligibility requirements) with revenue proven products and services and, importantly, the capacity to support US sales as part of a demonstrable US market execution strategy. Ideal candidates will evidence a clear US expansion plan and an associated capital raising strategy to fuel such growth. The Trade Mission is only open to company founders, co-founders and CEOs. Applicants should offer cutting edge solutions in areas such as (but not limited to) digital marketing, voice of customer, in-store operations, mobile payments, last mile delivery, customer loyalty, experience-led engagement, frictionless retail and the latest in AI led disruption.

Participating Trade Mission delegates will have the opportunity to pitch their propositions in private, one-to-one meetings to senior leaders at leading US retail and consumer goods companies. The purpose of the Trade Mission is to export the most cutting-edge UK retail and consumer technologies. As such, each meeting will be geared toward creating viable commercial opportunities for all attendees. Senior leaders (including multiple C-Suite executives) of participating corporates attended over 70 meetings during the 2017 True-DIT Trade Mission which has, to date, produced a multitude of POC trials and other commercial engagements for last year’s UK delegates.

True and its supporting partners will also organise networking opportunities for Trade Mission delegates with selected early stage/venture investment firms interested in identifying cutting edge companies seeking to expand into the United States.

CASTS and DIT will be funding accommodation and sponsored event costs for all selected and eligible London-based delegates for all days of the Trade Mission. Delegates will be expected to cover costs associated with their international and domestic flights, other transportation, meals, entertainment and any other personal expenses.

Applications are now closed.
