Consumer, retail and tech specialist investment and advisory firm, True is delighted to welcome Mark McClennon, former Global CIO of Burberry, as a Senior Advisor. Mark will be joining True’s advisory business, which helps retail and consumer businesses create value through innovation and new technology. His extensive leadership experience in digital strategy and technology-led transformations will further strengthen the firm's ability to add value to its corporate partners and portfolio companies.
Mark McClennon:
Mark McClennon, MBE, is a distinguished technology leader with a proven track record of driving technological innovation in global companies. As Global CIO at Burberry from May 2017 to December 2024, Mark led the luxury brand’s technology strategy, transformation and key digital initiatives. Prior to Burberry, he spent almost three decades in key leadership positions at Unilever, where he served as Consumer CIO.
In addition to his corporate expertise, Mark has made significant contributions to digital education and skills development. He chaired the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education’s (IfATE) Digital Route Panel for nearly five years and currently serves there as Non-Executive Director. His other board experience includes serving as Non-Executive Director at Bonmarché from April 2016 to August 2019 and he was awarded an MBE for his contributions to digital education and apprenticeships in the King’s Birthday Honours.
